Once a bustling community, little Mendon does its best to survive

MENDON - Sitting in what was one of the last two businesses in town last month, lifelong Mendon native Rick Emans reminisced on the good times he's had within the now fading village.
The P&G Mini Mart where he shared with The Daily Standard memories of bygone days closed shortly afterward, leaving Mendon without any businesses except for Jim's Forever Inc., a motorcycle shop. [More]
Angstmann is boys basketball player of the year

With star center Austin Parks moving on to Ohio State, St. Marys turned to two senior forwards, Evan Angstmann and Jace Turner.
It was Angstmann who became the engine of the Roughriders' offense, resetting program records for 3-pointers in a game and a season and surpassing 1,000 points as St. Marys came five minutes from a regional tournament berth and a trip to Bowling Green. [More]

ST. MARYS - St. Marys police are searching for a 32-year-old man who's reportedly been missing for a little over a week.
Dustin Schmehl was last seen at about 9 a.m. March 12 in St. Marys, according to a post on the St. Marys Police Department Facebook page.
