Thomas Warner
Thomas F. Warner, age 96 of New Bremen, Ohio, died on Monday, April 8, 2024 at his home.
He was born on June 27, 1927 in New Bremen, Ohio to the late Leonard & Bertha (Koenig) Warner. He married Martha Thobe on November 11, 1954, at St. John the Baptist Church, Maria Stein, Ohio. She survives in New Bremen.
He is also survived by children: Laura & Ed Rolfes, Celina; Theresa & Chuck Krisak, Galena; Kurt & Patti Warner, New Bremen; and Ned & Sherry Warner, New Bremen; 12 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren, sisters Virginia & David Friemering, New Bremen and Margie Moeller, Cassella; brother, John & Donna Warner, Beverly Hills, Fla.; in-laws: Jiggs & Velma Thobe of Maria Stein, Don & Patty Thobe of Maria Stein, Brownie & Shirley Thobe of Maria Stein, Jean Thobe of Maria Stein, Lois & Jay Hogenkamp of Carthagena, and Larry Thobe of St. Marys.
He was preceded in death by a great-grandchild Connor Rolfes, sister Marilyn & Joe Traversy and brother James & Leigh Warner, in-laws: Butch & Mary Thobe, Alice & Leonard Varno, Barney & Mary Thobe, Buck & Norma Thobe, Whitey & Ginny Thobe, Marilyn & Dale Miller, Toot & John Mescher, Dutch Thobe, Linda Thobe and David Moeller.
He was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, New Bremen. He was a lifelong farmer and car salesman for Koenig Chevrolet, Spencerville, Advance Auto, New Bremen and retired at the age of 89 from Katterheinrich Chevrolet, New Knoxville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War, a member of the New Bremen American Legion Post #241, Amvets Post 3, Lakeview, St. Marys VFW, St. Marys Eagles Aerie #767 and Home Benefit Association. Tom never knew a stranger and loved visiting with people. He especially loved polka dancing with his wife and spending time with his children, grandchildren & great- grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, New Bremen. Burial with full military honors will follow in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen.
Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, April 13 from 9 to 10 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grand Lake Hospice.
