Charles Dine
Charles E. Dine, age 65, of St. Marys, died on May 5, 2024 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in St. Marys on March 5, 1959 to Colston Lawrence (dec.) and Leila (Huber) Dine. On June 10, 1989, he married Suzanne "Sue" (Evers) Dine and she survives at their St.Marys residence.
He is survived by his children, Nicole (Michael) Wooddell, Perrysburg, Ohio, and Matt Dine, St. Marys; three grandchildren, Adam, Lydia, and Valerie; Leila Dine, St. Marys; and eight sisters and their families.
Charlie was a 1977 graduate from St.Marys Memorial High School and then attended the University of Dayton. He worked his entire life at the St. Marys Foundry, where he knew every aspect of the industry. Being a foundryman was his biggest passion.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St.Marys and a 40-year member of the St. Marys Idlewild Club. He was a big supporter of Boy Scouts of America and helped with the restoration project of Locomotive Engine 765 in New Haven, Indiana. Charlie was also a big fan of both the Cincinnati Reds and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Charlie loved Frank Sinatra, so whenever you hear one of his songs, think of him. Charlie's last act of kindness on earth was giving the gift of life and hope through organ donation.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday May 18, 2024 at Cisco Funeral Home, 1175 E. Greenville Rd., St.Marys with Deacon Charlie Salway officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
