Mental health renewal levy on fall election ballot
Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize and Hardin counties
By Erin Gardner
Voters will decide the fate of a 10-year, 0.5-mill renewal tax levy for the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Allen, Auglaize and Hardin counties on the Nov. 5 general election ballot.
The levy will collect $1.7 million annually and cost the owner of a $100,000 home $10 a year, according to ballot language.
Tammie Colon, executive director of the board, said the funds will help pay for treatment, programming not reimbursed by health care and navigators or social workers within the tri-county's school districts. The programs can include housing, the center's hotline and its drop-in service.
The levy was first passed in 1985. This election will mark its fifth time on the ballot, Colon said.
