Lori Huffman
Lori R. Huffman, age 54, of Mendon, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, December 12, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on December 2, 1970, in Celina, Ohio, to Bennett and Patricia (Heitkamp) Schmidt.
Lori is survived by her beloved mother, Patricia Schmidt of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; her siblings, Roger Schmidt of Columbus, Ohio, Lisa (Mark) Jones of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, Kevin (Heather) Schmidt of Celina, Ohio, and Michael Schmidt of Columbus, Ohio; as well as two stepbrothers, one stepsister, and numerous cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her devoted life partner of 18 years, Brad Weyandt, who passed on September 16, 2021; her father, Bennett (Betty) Schmidt; sister-in-law, Sherry Schmidt; three stepbrothers; and one stepsister.
A proud 1989 graduate of Celina High School, Lori was known for her vibrant personality and many passions. She was an active member of Mendon Civic Group, the Mendon library book club and found joy in activities such as listening to music, riding motorcycles, camping, playing cards, attending car shows and bingo. Lori also enjoyed attending quarter auctions and, above all, spending quality time with her family and friends. An animal lover at heart, she adored her pets and embraced the role of a devoted mother to her many "fur kids."
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Cisco Funeral Home, 6921 State Route 703 E., Celina, Ohio.
A Memorial Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys, officiated by Fr. Rob Muhlenkamp.
The family will receive friends at Cisco Funeral Home in Celina from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning prior to the service.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Mendon Cemetery in Mendon, Ohio.
The family would like to thank the staff at EverHeart Hospice and the James Cancer Hospital, Martha Moore House for the compassionate care they gave to Lori and her family. Additionally, they would also like to thank Midwest Electric, Huntington National Bank and Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Memorial contributions may be made to the SART St. Marys, the Animal Protection League of St. Marys, or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
