Michael Buschur
Michael Buschur, age 74, of Coldwater, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima.
He was born on October 21, 1950, in Coldwater to the late Melvin and Audrey (Frank) Buschur. On December 1, 1973, he married Mary Dahlinghaus, who survives in Coldwater.
Michael is survived by his children, Jason Buschur of Celina and Kimberly Smith of Key Largo, Florida; his beloved grandchildren, Eli and Ainsley; and siblings and in-laws, Jerry Buschur, Margie Buschur, Tony Schoenlein, Phyllis and Richard Gansert, Dennis and Betty Dahlinghaus, Bob and Patsy Dahlinghaus, Carol and Greg Dennings, John and Ruth Dahlinghaus, Sharon Wint, David and Denise Dahlinghaus, Dale and Angie Dahlinghaus, Carol Dahlinghaus, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mike Smith; siblings and in-laws, Richard Buschur, Connie Schoenlein, Dale Buschur, Rodney Wint, and Steven Dahlinghaus.
Michael was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. He proudly owned and operated PolyWorks in Coldwater for 30 years. Before starting his own business, Michael had also worked at Avco New Idea, St. Mary's Power Plant, Huffy's Manufacturing, and he served in the National Guard. He was a certified Assistant SCUBA instructor who loved sharing his passion for diving with others.
Known for his strength and resourcefulness, Michael could fix just about anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a brilliant mind and an unmatched knack for solving problems, qualities that were only surpassed by his tireless work ethic. He found joy in spending time in the woods, working on machinery, building and maintaining the boilers, and restoring his beloved Corvette. But cherishing every moment with his grandchildren was his biggest joy in life. He was ornery, determined, and full of life, the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation.
Michael's legacy is one of kindness, perseverance, and love for his family, friends, and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral service will be at 6:00 PM on Monday, December 16, 2024 at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
