JR Stough
Max Lynn Stough, Jr, 45, of Coldwater - the greatest dad in the whole world - passed away on Thursday, December 12. He passed at The Ohio State Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio with his wife and children at his side. He always just went by the nickname JR and had such a kind and easy-going personality. Although he had a year-long journey with cancer, his passing came suddenly.
He was born on June 26th, 1979 to Max and Betty (Himelhan) Stough. They survive in Delta, Ohio. On November 4, 2006 in Coldwater, he married Carolyn (Klepaski) Stough and they reside in Coldwater.
JR and Carolyn are the parents of two wonderful children, Hailey and Owen. He has left a legacy of compassion and generosity to his children. Known for his gentle demeanor, JR was slow to anger and quick in kindness.
He is survived by his sister Michelle & Chris Savage of Delta, OH. He is also survived by his mother and father in-law, Karen & Elmer Klepaski of Coldwater, and in-laws Janet Hulbert of Perrysburg, Jill & Adam Puthoff of St. Henry, David & Nikki Klepaski of Sylvania and numerous nieces and nephews.
JR lived his life with a great work ethic, having many skills that provided for his family. He was the go-to person who could fix or troubleshoot anything, always ready with the right skills and tools to make things work again. He truly found joy in helping others.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, Mercer County Sportsman Club and was an active volunteer for several community organizations. He was a graduate of Delta High School. JR has always had a love of sports, starting out as a race car driver of a late model as a teenager. He was a guy you could always find at Coldwater Memorial Park catching a game, or in the stands of all Coldwater Cavalier events. JR was most happy watching his children train, learn and compete in sports. He will truly be missed in the stands and now has a front row seat up in heaven.
During his battle with AML, JR recognized the value in blood donation and would encourage others to donate blood in his memory.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to a local charity of choice. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, December 18 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Friends may call on Tuesday, December 17 from 2PM to 7PM and on Wednesday from 9AM to 10AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
