* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Phyllis Kessen
Phyllis J. (Long) Kessen, age 90 of Coldwater, died Sunday, January 19, 2025 at Briarwood Village in Coldwater. She was born January 15, 1935 in Wapakoneta to the late Carl & Alena (Borges) Long. On June 14, 1958 she married LeRoy Kessen in Wapakoneta who preceded her in death in 2019.
She is also survived by her children, Theodore Kessen of Coldwater, Deborah & Tim Beck of Minster, Pamela & Dave Tumbusch of Celina and Dee Schmidt of St. Marys; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren and one on the way, and a sister, Mary Ann Garman of Chickasaw.
She was preceded in death by siblings and in-laws, Harold Long, Gerald Long, Ida Lou & Francis Harrod, Charles & Marlene Long, Delbert Long, Ralph Kessen and Kenneth & Lucille Kessen.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater and Coldwater VFW Auxiliary. Phyllis was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Coldwater Cavaliers and Ohio State Buckeyes. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing bingo, Friday night cards and spending her time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. For many years, she helped her husband LeRoy, at Kessen's Auto Trim and babysat for family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Tuesday, January 21 and 9 to 10 am Wednesday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
