Bonita Schmiesing
Bonita Lee "Bonnie" (Larger) Schmiesing age 83 formerly of Paris Street, Minster, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday evening, March 24, 2025, at Elmwood Assisted Living in New Bremen, Ohio.
She was born on January 29, 1942, to the late Wilma (Meyer) and Ralph Larger. On October 17, 1964, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Minster, Bonnie married Werner H. Schmiesing, Jr. who preceded her in death on January 3, 2019.
She is survived by siblings Juliana (Richard) Weigandt, Larry (Anne) Larger, Barbie (Mark) Thieman, sisters-in-law Linda (Phil) Lones, Judy (Ed) Hogan, and Susan (Kyle) Schmiesing along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by Dale Larger (brother), Roger Schmiesing (brother-in-law), Abigail Wells (niece) and her infant daughter Abigail Juliana "AJ" Wells, and Stan Bender (nephew).
Bonnie was blessed with 4 children, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren- with another on the way in August. Surviving are Dawn (Dave) Conrad of Minster- Brendon (Melissa) and great granddaughters Charlotte, Remey and another one on the way, Marissa; Tyra (Tim) Meyer of Wapakoneta-Tristan (fiancé Kalia), Jori, Taryn and Preston; Rogell (Caray) Schmiesing of Minster-Bryce (Hayley) and great granddaughter Mae, Isaac (Averi), Mara, Connor and Kali; Chanda (Mike) Echols of Wapakoneta along with their children Mackenzie, Taylor and Riley.
Bonnie was a graduate of Minster High School in 1960. She worked at Baumfolder, the Wooden Shoe Inn, Autocraft Manufacturing & Machine, and the Minster Tasty Treat for over 15 years making their shredded chicken sandwiches. What she prized most were her grandchildren. She loved babysitting for them and watching them participate and excel in a variety of sports including football, softball, baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, dance, track, cross country and golf. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church.
A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am, Saturday, March 29, 2025, at St. Augustine Church in Minster, Ohio. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster.
Friends and family may call Friday, March 28, 4:00-7:00pm and Saturday, March 29, 8:30-9:00am at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
