Despite rainy conditions, people converged on Shanes Park on Friday for the opening night of Rockford Community Days, enjoying food, rides, a car show and performance of patriotic and hymnal music by the Van Wert Area Community Band. There's more fun in store today, starting with a vendor market from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Food, rides and beer will be available at noon. Several music acts will perform throughout the day, including 127 North at 7 p.m. There will be a poker tournament at 6 p.m. and fireworks display at 10 p.m. Proceeds from the event go back to the community.
