Ruth Tangeman
Ruth H. Tangeman, age 74, of New Bremen, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 5:23 A.M. at St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, after many years of chronic heart problems. She was born on December 3, 1950, in Celina, the daughter of the late William F. and Viola C. (Everman) Wuebker. She married Larry Tangeman on June 14, 1975, having just celebrated 50 wonderful years together. Larry survives in New Bremen.
Also surviving are her sons: Mark (Stacy) Tangeman, John (Mary) Tangeman, and Rob (Sarah) Tangeman all of New Bremen, as well as her twelve beloved grandchildren: Elijah, Whitney, Sophia, Gabrielle, Julia, Madison, Justin, Megan, Jack, Tyler, Kade, and Ian. Also left to cherish her memory are her siblings: Doris Shrader of Minster, Carol Jones of Celina, and Denny (Mary) Wuebker of Maria Stein, and her in-laws: Beverly (Don) Applegate of Florida, Dennis Dicke and Gen Conradi of New Bremen, Alice Wuebker of Coldwater, and Kathy Wuebker of Virginia.
Along with her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her mother and father in-law, Walter and Leola Tangeman, her siblings: Larry Wuebker, Merinus (Judy) Wuebker, Kay (Jerry) Buening, Pat Wuebker, and Bud Wuebker; and her in-laws: Jim Shrader, Ed Jones, and Lois Dicke.
Ruth was a graduate of St. Henry High School and enjoyed going to lunch with several of her life-long friends. She was an active member of the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen where she sang in the choir, was a lector, and was active in the Stephen's Ministry. She was also a member of the New Bremen American Legion Post 241 Auxiliary. She served as the office manager for Maria Stein Animal Clinic for 30 years and was a dedicated farm wife. She loved to attend her grandchildren's various activities, and together with her family, enjoyed many special times at the Auglaize County Fair. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and was an avid OSU Buckeye fan, cheering them on at many games.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the Church of the Holy Redeemer in New Bremen with Rev. Fr. Mark Hoying presiding. Interment will follow in the German Protestant Cemetery of New Bremen. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home in New Bremen, and again on Monday morning at the church from 9:30-10:30 A.M.
