Area yields in peril this summer
CELINA - Drought conditions are creeping into parts of Ohio, including an "abnormally dry" status in northern Mercer County, causing corn and soybeans to prematurely age, or senesce, and potentially spurring farmers to harvest their crops earlier than normal to ward off losses.

Celina hosted Kenton in a Western Buckeye League boys golf match at Celina Lynx on Wednesday, with the Wildcats picking up a 176-202 win on the front nine of the course.
  The Midwest Athletic Conference begins play this week, setting up eight weeks of local teams battling each other to try and shore up and earn playoff spots.
  While the Western Buckeye League opened league play last Friday, the MAC teams faced non-conference opponents who were a combined 7-3 last week and won six of those games.
