Thomas Everman
Thomas R. "Chooch" Everman, age 71, of Burkettsville, died peacefully with his wife by his side, on Friday, January 30, 2026, at The Gardens at St. Henry.
Chooch was born December 21, 1954, in Coldwater, to the late Arthur and Esther (Riethman) Everman. On November 8, 1978, he married Connie (Siefring) Everman. Chooch and Connie were married for 47 years, and she survives at their home in Burkettsville.
Chooch is also survived by three sons and their wives, Shaun & Jaime Everman of St. Henry, Scott & Robyn Everman of Coldwater, and Corey & Kim Everman of Burkettsville, and his eight loving grandchildren: Clayton, Jalynn, Daisey, Chase, Claire, Eli, Molly, and Toby.
Other surviving family members include siblings and in- laws, Jerry & Ann Everman of Maria Stein, Phyllis & Jerry Doseck of New Bremen, Rosie Fullenkamp of St. Joe, Janice & Tom Richardson of Ellwood City, PA, Star & Lisa Everman of Minster, Angie Everman & Dennis Smith of Minster, and Buck & Fran Siefring of New Weston.
In addition to his parents, Chooch is preceded in death by a brother Abe Everman, in-laws Wayne Fullenkamp, and Doris Siefring, as well as his father and mother-in-law, Julius & Marian Siefring.
Chooch was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Burkettsville, where he served as an usher and was a member of the men's sodality at the church. He was a 1974 graduate of Marion Local High School and went on to have a career as a truck driver for many years until he retired from Weaver Eggs. In his retirement Chooch enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. He enjoyed bus trips and trips to the casino, as well as attending his grandchildren's various sporting events and activities.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at St. Bernard Catholic Church. Following the funeral mass, burial will take place in St. Bernard Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry. Those wishing to honor Chooch's life may consider doing so by donating to EverHeart Hospice.
