Gusty southwest winds will become westerly this afternoon. The strong winds and the recently fallen snow is resulting in some blowing and drifting snow, especially across rural and open areas. This may result in rapid changes in road conditions over short distances. Motorists should exercise extra caution.

Robert Stocker
Robert L. Stocker, 65, of Ridgeville, Ind., died Oct. 21, 2006, at Ryan RV Campgrounds, Albany, Ky.
He was born May 23, 1941, to Harold B. and Ruth O. Weaver. His mother survives in Portland, Ind.
Also surviving are two sons, Harold L., Fort Recovery, and Danny E., Portland; three brothers, Jack E., Dunkirk, Ind., Ralph E., Albany, Ind., and Fred A., Centerville, Ga.; and two sisters, Barbara A. Meek, Portland, and Janet (James) Beeson, Dunkirk.
Deceased is a son, Jeff.
He was an iron worker with Local 147 Union, Fort Wayne, Ind., and attended Madison Township High School. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 928, Portland, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515, Fort Recovery, and Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 417, Portland.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at the Portland Chapel of Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home, the Rev. Hugh Kelly officiating. Burial is at Wells Cemetery, northwest of Portland.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the chapel.
