During the predawn hours, winds will increase ahead of a low pressure system moving east through the lower Great Lakes. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected through this afternoon, possibly gusting to 45 mph in a few spots. Wind is expected to decrease overnight but remain relatively strong at 20-25 mph this evening.
Please be aware of these strong winds especially if driving a higher profile vehicle. Secure loose outdoor objects and shore up seasonal decorations if possible.

Larry Hicks
Larry N. Hicks, 65, 300 Bruns Ave., Apt. 52, Celina, died at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 31, 2006, at Veterans' Medical Center, Dayton.
He was born Jan. 25, 1941, in Prestonburg, Ky., to Ezra and Areda Hall Hicks. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Herb Slaven. All are deceased.
Survivors are a companion, Sharon Hicks Lange, Celina; three brothers, Herb (Barb) Slaven, Botkins, Jim Slaven, Lima, and Martin Slaven, Lima; and five sisters, Vicki Burkhart, Deb (Tim) Williams and Stacy (Tom) Spurlock, all of St. Marys, Vina (Gerald) Woods, Celina, and Mary Tremmel, Omaha, Neb.
Deceased are two brothers, Jackie Hicks and Charles Slaven; and a sister, Brenda Sue Rose.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served as a paratrooper.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial is at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
