Wilbert Baumer
Wilbert J. Baumer, 90, 13435 Renee Drive, McCartyville, died at 1:45 a.m. Nov. 21, 2006, at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
He was born March 21, 1916, in McCartyville, to Fred and Anna Prenger Baumer. On May 10, 1941, he married Mary Ann Wolf, who died April 26, 1998.
Survivors are two sons, Stanley (Sally), McCartyville, and Fred (Patricia), Eden, Minn.; two daughters, Diane (Tom) Platfoot, Dayton, and Jane (Chuck) Karnehm, Troy; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Alma Pleiman.
He was a retired farmer and also retired from Copeland Corp., Sidney. He was a lector and member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and its men's sodality and cemetery committee, and the Knights of Columbus and Senior Citizens, all of McCartyville. He also was a member of the Farm Bureau.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, the Rev. Patrick Welsh officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Contributions can be made to the church building fund.
