Rev. Austin Herrmann
The Rev. Austin Charles Herrmann, 84, died the evening of Jan. 18, 2007, at St. Charles Center, Carthagena, after a year long bout with cancer. He was a resident since March 2005.
He was born Aug. 9, 1922, in Kinsley, Kan., to John E. and Elizabeth I Hahn Herrmann.
Survivors are a sister-in-law, Lucy, Larned, Kan.
Deceased is a brother, Quentin.
He entered the seminary with the Society of Precious Blood in Sept. 1940, at St. Joseph College, Rensselaer, Ind.; he made his temporary profession at the center Dec. 3, 1943; and made his final profession Dec. 3, 1946, at the center. He was ordained at the center, May 16, 1948. He was a pastor in Missouri, Kansas, Xenia, North Dakota, and Texas. He retired in 2000.
Funeral Mass is 2 p.m. Tuesday at the center. Burial will follow at the center cemetery.
Calling is 4 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the center.
