Norman Zumberge
Norman A. Zumberge, 66, 403 Baywood Lane, Celina, died Feb. 23, 2007, at 7:15 a.m. at his residence following an extended illness.
He was born June 19, 1940, in Celina, to Edward and Rose (Nieport) Zumberge. On May 10, 1969, he married Nancy A. Helmstetter, who survives.
Also surviving is a daughter, Natalie, Cincinnati; two sons, Nicholas (Jenifer), Columbus and Niles (Susan), Waterbury, Vt.; four sisters, Patricia Herr, Fairborn; Carol (Keith) Henderson, Cadiz; Edna (Ron) Smith, Virgilina, Va., and Barbara (Jay) Josselyn, Leesburg, Va.; two brothers, Linus (Diane), Celina and Gene, Denver; and one grandson.
A son, Nathan, preceded him in death in 2001.
He was a 1958 graduate of St. Henry High School and attended The Ohio State University. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a professional building designer and construction management specialist. He was a past president of the Northwood Homeowners Association, member of the Jefferson Township Zoning Board and served on the regional planning commission. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, where he ahd been a CCD instructor and had served on an advisory committee for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Brenberger officiating. There will be a private family burial on Wednesday at Elm Grove Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling hours are 3-8 p.m. Monday and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Tuesday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina.
