Gwendolyn Taylor
Gwendolyn A. Taylor, 71, 1106 Princeton Ave., Celina, died Feb. 25, 2007, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born Feb. 16, 1936, in Ashland, to Virgil L. and Lucy H. Raver. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth E. Taylor.
Also surviving are a son, Kirk E. (Rebecca), Rocky River; three daughters, Joy L. (Michael) Letts and Joan L. (Charles) Streby, all of Fredericktown, and Jill L. (Lonnie) Williams, Streamwood, Ill.; a sister, Janet E. Raver, Bowling Green; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Andrew.
She performed secretarial duties for Wilco Chemical, Akron, and JB Foote Foundry, Fredericktown. She received her bachelor's of art degree with a major in theater and a minor in secretarial science from Kent State University, and was an active member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She also was involved in the formation of the YMCA, Celina. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Celina, and its Altar Guild and served communion to the homebound and assisted at funeral dinners for the church. She also was a member of Charity Circle and a campaign worker and member of the Republican Women's Organization.
A memorial service is 2:30 p.m. March 10 at the church. Her body has been donated to the Wright State University Medical School for training and research.
Calling is after 1 p.m. March 10 at the church and will continue following the service.
