Making it real

The three wise men bow before baby Jesus in Mary's arms during the first-ever live Nativity performance at the Mercer County Fairgrounds on Sunday evening. The drive- and walk-through event on Saturday and Sunday drew 1,500 vehicles. Visitors donated a half-ton of food and nearly $500 cash, which will be distributed to area food pantries. Seven Celina-area churches sponsored the Nativity. Nearly 250 congregation members - including a real baby portraying infant Jesus - participated from Celina Church of the Nazarene, Immaculate Conception Catholic, Bethany United Methodist, First Presbyterian, Mount Carmel Church of God, New Life Christian Center and St. John Lutheran.
