Stanley D. Sill, 69, Rockford, died Jan. 3, 2008, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born Aug. 7, 1938 in Rockford to Bill and Bessie Bienz Sill. On June 2, 1959 he married Katy Amstutz, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Tony Douglas (Tracy, Van Wert and Rusty Duane (Diana), Rockford; one brother, Jerry Lee (Majorie) Sill, Rockford; and six grandchildren.

He had worked at the former Rockford Press for 11 years and then worked in maintenance at Aeroquip in Van Wert from which he retired after 27 years of service. He also was an auctioneer for many years and was active in the sport of modified car racing.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Robert Loar officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.

Calling is 2-8 p.m. Sunday and on Monday one hour before services at the funeral home.
