Merle Black
Merle D. Black, 70, 431 E. Fulton St., Celina, died at 1:40 p.m. April 4, 2008, at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born June 13, 1937, in Poe, Ind., to George and Wilma Thompson Black. In Jan., 1970, he married Janice Davis, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Mike (Rosanna), Greenville, Pa., and Chuck (Kristine), Rockford; a daughter, Kristine (Mike) Durnell, Celina; a stepson, Brett (Michelle) Riley, Celina; a sister, Patricia (Gerald) Hoblet, Decatur, Ind.; two sisters-in-law, Ellen and Gloria, both of Rockford; and 10 grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Ray and Don; and a sister, Eileen Fleming.
He was a retired tool and die maker for the former Huffy Corporation, Celina, and Chrysler Corporation, Van Wert. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Celina and Rockford, The Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Celina and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Celina. He was a 1955 graduate of Willshire High School.
Services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. James Richter officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens.
Calling is 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
