Barbara Freeman
Former Celina resident Barbara Ann Freeman, 73, of Englewood, died Aug. 27, 2008, at the Medem International Clinic and Hospital, St. Petersburg, Russia.
She was born July 18, 1935, in Louisville, Ky., to Hamilton and Mary Amilia Strevig Smith. On June 11, 1958, she married Donald Freeman, who survives.
Other survivors are a brother, Hamilton Smith, Duluth, Minn.; and a sister, Catherine (Jerry) Allison, Dayton.
Deceased is a brother, Nicholas Smith.
She retired as a grade school teacher from Northmont Public School and had taught at Milton-Union Public School, Celina City Schools and Parkway Local School. She was a member of the Celina First Church of God, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the National Education Association and the Ohio Education Association. She was a Randolph Township High School graduate and received her teaching degree from Miami University, Oxford.
Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Bruce Strine officiating. Burial is at Swamp College Cemetery, Celina.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to services Thursday at the funeral home.
