Arnold Lorton
Arnold "Jake" Anthony Lorton, 82, of West Milton, died at 8 p.m. April 8, 2009, at Koester Pavilion, Troy.
He was born July 20, 1926, in Willshire, to Walter and Anna Martino Lorton. He married Eileen Lohrentz, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Gary (Toni) Lorton, Tipp City, and Mike (Bonnie) Lorton, Dayton; a daughter, Sandra Kay (William) Oliver, Akron; a brother, Bernard Lorton, Hot Springs, Ark., a sister, Marie Dickson, Osgood; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a daughter, Pamela Sue Lorton; three brothers; and three sisters.
He worked at the former National Cash Register (NCR), Dayton, and Goodyear, and operated the former Western Auto store in West Milton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion, Greenville, Disabled American Veterans, and the West Milton United Church of Christ since 1951.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Revs. Mark Moore and Richard Van Tine officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery, West Milton.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Monday at Hale-Sarver Funeral Home, West Milton.
