Lela Goodpaster
Former Celina resident Lela J. Goodpaster, 84, died April 22, 2009, at Willow Brook Christian Village in Delaware, where she had resided the last 10 years.
She was born May 7, 1924, in St. Marys, to Otto and Anna Johns Wade. In 1945, she married Ralph DeWayne, who died in 1995.
Surviving are a son, William (Kathy) Goodpaster, Centerburg; a daughter, Susan (Juergen) Klimke, Powell; a brother, Floyd "Buddy" (Edith) Wade, Spencerville; a sister, Ruth Hindenlang, Spencerville; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a brother, Arthur Wade; and three sisters, Evelyn Thomas, Dorothy Mays and a twin, Lila Carmean.
Services are 3 p.m. Sunday at the Rutherford Funeral Home, Powell, the Rev. Richard L. Yeager-Stiver officiating. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina.
Calling is 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
