Charles Huwer
Charles L. Huwer, 79, 1211 Cranberry Road, St. Henry, died at 2:50 p.m. Sept. 7, 2009, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
He was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Cranberry Prairie to John J. and Regina Schwieterman Huwer. On April 25, 1964, he married Anna M. Baker, who survives.
Other survivors are three daughters, Peg Huwer, Columbus, Mary (Bart) Doll, Coldwater, and Karen (Charles) Grube, Fort Recovery; two sisters, Marian Langenkamp, Orlando, Fla. and Eileen Barga, Versailles; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Huwer, North Star; and three grandchildren.
Deceased is a son, Michael Huwer; a brother, Victor Huwer; and two brothers-in-law, Ivo Langenkamp and Richard Barga.
He was a member of St. Francis Church, Cranberry Prairie, St. Henry American Legion and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He was a member of the Mercer County Cattlemen's Association.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, the Rev. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial is at the church cemetery with military rites conducted by the St. Henry Legion.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
