Gladys E. Baker
Gladys E. Cox Briggs Baker, 96, of Celina, died at 4:45 a.m. Oct. 28, 2009, at the Gardens of Celina.
She was born Aug. 2, 1913, in Lima to Daniel and Anna Glick Cox. On Oct. 11, 1935, she married her first husband, Dorse E. Briggs, who died May 19, 1991. Her second husband, Luther Baker whom she married April 16, 1993, died Aug. 23, 1995.
Surviving are two sons, Gerald E. (Marlene) Briggs, Indian Lake, and Steve C. (Cheryl) Briggs, Lima; a daughter-in-law, Ethel M. (Patterson) Briggs, Coldwater; a sister-in-law, Vondale (Gail) Coon, Lima; three grandsons, eight granddaughters; and 34 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sons, Dennis D. and Philip M. Briggs; three brothers Russell, Roy and Cloyd Cox; and a sister, Thelma Newland.
She had worked at the TB Hospital and Lima Convalescent Home. She attended Lima Central High School. She was a member of the Lima Senior Citizens.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at the Shawnee Chapel Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Lima, the Rev. Robert Wood officiating.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Burial is at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
