Evelyn Kelner
Evelyn M. Kelner, 93, died at 9:10 a.m. Nov. 28, 2009, at the Gardens at Celina.
She was born Jan. 3, 1916, in Mendon to Paul J. and Edna E. Kruger Thomas. On Aug. 22, 1934, she married Robert A. Kelner, who died May 25, 2005.
Surviving are two daughters, Jackie (Dick) Schleucher, Celina and Connie (Jesse) Stocksdale, Union City; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Helen Kellett.
She had been a librarian at the Mendon Branch Library for 18 years and was a member of the Mendon First Church of God, where she had been a trustee and primary superintendent, was a member of the Ladies Aid and served on the church council and the planning and building committees. She graduated in 1934 from the former Mendon-Union High School and was a member of the Farm Bureau Oganization and the Mendon Flower and Garden Club. She helped organize the Mendon-Union Band Boosters Club.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Dick and Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Randy Christian officiating. Burial is at the Mendon Cemetery.
Calling is 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
