Janice Berger
Janice M. Berger, 69, 8363 state Route 705, Osgood, died at 3:50 p.m. March 3, 2010, at her home.
She was born March 16, 1940, in Maria Stein, to Theodore and Marie Timmerman Hemmelgarn. On Oct. 29, 1960, she married William A. Berger, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Gerald (Angie) Berger, Versailles, Roger (Amy) Berger, Plain City, Rodney (Patricia) Berger, Botkins; two daughters, Karen (John) Hilgefort, Versailles, and Michelle (Anton) Kuether, Covington; a brother, Elmer (Regina) Hemmelgarn, Russia; a sister, Marjorie (Ralph) Diller, Maria Stein; a sister-in-law, Viola Miller, Fort Recovery; 14 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Deceased are an infant daughter, Kathleen Berger; a brother, Alton Hemmelgarn, and a sister, Wilma Richert.
She taught at Marion Local High School, where she was a 1957 graduate. She was a homemaker and member of the St. Nicholas Catholic Church where she was active in the Ladies Sodality and a CCD teacher. She received her teaching degree from the University of Dayton.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, the Rev. David L. Zink officiating. Burial is at St. Martin's Cemetery in Osgood.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Gehret Funeral Home in Fort Loramie.
