Schools, county will see financial boost

VAN WERT - Beginning this spring nearly 160 wind turbines - reaching five times taller than area farm silos - will dot the horizon in Van Wert and Paulding counties.
The majority of the proposed turbines - 121 - will be built in Van Wert County, three miles north of downtown Van Wert. The electricity generated will flow into an electric transmission grid in the Convoy area to power homes and businesses across Ohio. [More]

NEW BREMEN - The Division IV sectional volleyball tournament at Cardinal Gymnasium in New Bremen has always been a meat-grinder, with seeded teams often getting knocked off or at least tested to the limits.
This year was no exception, as the state's number-one ranked team had to climb out of a deep hole in order to grind out a tough five-set victory. [More]

Election 2010: Celina Income Tax Levy
CELINA - City residents will see an income tax levy on the Nov. 2 election ballot that if passed would bring in an additional $1.5 million each year.

SPENCERVILLE - The Minster girls continued their annual domination of the Division III district cross country meet at Spencerville, while the Minster boys joined them in claiming a team title, avenging their loss to St. Henry at last week's Midwest Athletic Conference championships.

LIMA - The Celina volleyball team advanced to the Division II Liberty-Benton District Tournament following an easy three-game win over Bath on Saturday at Lima Senior High School.

VAN WERT - Form held true on Saturday afternoon at the Division III sectional volleyball tournament at Van Wert as both number-one seed Parkway and number-two seeded Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds posted wins.
