Vernon Kuck
Vernon H. Kuck, 91, St. Marys, died at 12:57 p.m. Dec. 12, 2010, at the St. Marys Living Center.
He was born Sept. 27, 1919, near St. Marys, to Martin and Lydia Wierwille Kuck. On June 12, 1943, he married Ruth Poppe, who survives.
Also surviving are four children, Ronald (Carol) Kuck, Columbus, Susan (David) Allen, Wooster, Ted (Kay) Kuck, St. Marys, Jay (Cheryl) Kuck, St. Marys; a sister, Marian Kuck, New Knoxville; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a brother, Paul Kuck.
He was a 1937 graduate of New Knoxville High School. He was a dairy and crop farmer and founded Kuck's Turkey Farm. He was a licensed pilot and a member of the Wapakoneta Flying Club. He also served in the Roving Volunteers in Christ's Service. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Knoxville, where he served as a deacon and elder. He also was a member of the Gideons International.
Funeral rites are 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Revs. David Williams and Joshua Kuck co-officiating. Burial is at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Heritage Room of the church.
