Philip Montague
Philip D. Montague, 68, Celina, died at 10:05 p.m. Dec. 12, 2010, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert.
He was born Dec. 29, 1941, in Celina to Grover and Enid K. Cramer Montague. On Oct. 20, 1962, he married Kathleen Behm, who survives.
Also surviving is a son, Philip W. Montague, Celina; three daughters, Lora (Dean) Chittum, Celina, Barb (Dave) Dorman, Celina, and Kathy (Kevin) Adams, Celina; three brothers, Chuck (Sara) Montague, New York, William (Nancy) Montague, Celina, and Daryl Montague, Celina; two sisters, Emma Jane (Allen) Sprague, St. Marys, and Dorelda (George) Sprague, St. Marys; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a sister, Barbara Ruthanne Montague.
He retired after serving 22 years in the Navy. He was company commander at the Great Lakes Naval Base in Chicago. He served two tours in Vietnam and received the Purple Heart. He was a security guard at Huffy Bicycles in Celina. He was a member of the St. Marys Church of the Nazarene and attended St. Marys High School in St. Marys.
A meal and fellowship will be held at noon Thursday at the Celina Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713. Burial will be at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Wednesday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina.
