Jon Minnich
Jon O. "Jack" Minnich, 72, Payne, died at 4:25 a.m. Dec. 26, 2010, at Community Health Professionals of Van Wert Impatient Hospice Center.
He was born Aug. 10, 1938, in Fort Wayne, Ind., to Orville C. and Anna J. Fox Minnich. On July 27, 1957, he married Patricia V. Vachon, who survives in Payne.
Also surviving are five children, Marijane (Michael) Crowe, New Haven, Ind., Emmett (Rose) Minnich, Convoy, Annette (Russell) Spindler, Rockford, Mark Minnich, Toledo, and Scott (Carey) Minnich, Convoy; 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son-in-law, Melvin C. Henry; and three grandchildren.
He worked for 30 years at Tokheim Corporation as a maintenance foreman. He also worked at Materials Handling in Fort Wayne, Ind., and the former New Idea in Coldwater. He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Van Wert. He also was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Norbert Howe officiating. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert. A rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
