Jack Schmitt
Jack A. Schmitt, 78, Celina, died at 6:48 p.m. Dec. 25, 2010, at Ross Heart Hospital at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
He was born Aug. 23, 1932, in Hamilton to Karl and Mae Pruitt Schmitt. On Oct. 4, 1952, he married Dorothy M. Coby, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Deborah (Ed) Siefring, Celina, and Kathy (Gary) Parker, Celina; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a daughter, Tammy Snyder; a brother, Karl Schmitt Jr.; a sister, Martha Simmons; a son-in-law, Jerry Shinabery; his father- and mother-in-law, Oliver and Mary Coby; and a grandson.
He worked at Sieberling Latex in New Bremen and Reynolds and Reynolds in Celina. He attended Grace Missionary Church in Celina. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Celina American Legion Post 210.
Funeral services are 3 p.m. Sunday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina. Burial with graveside military rites by the Celina American Legion Post 210 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5713 is at Mercer Memory Gardens in Celina.
Calling is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
