Ada Longenecker
Ada E. Longenecker, 96, Bryant, Ind., died Feb. 3, 2011, at her home.
She was born Nov. 6, 1914, in Jay County, Ind., to Lewis Stanton and Maude Myrtle Mettler Resur. On Dec. 25, 1935, she married Donald Longenecker, who died Jan. 9, 1990.
Surviving is a son, Richard Longenecker, Smyrna, Ga.; a daughter, Sharon Pyle, Portland, Ind.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and worked on dairy and grain farms in Portland. She and her husband owned Hen House Antiques, Bryant, and owned and operated Don's Lunch in Portland. Her husband also did business in Mercer County. She was a member of the Salamonia United Methodist Church and attended West Walnut Street Church of Christ. She was a graduate of Gray High School.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland, the Rev. Bruce Phillips officiating. Burial is at Green Park Cemetery.
Calling is 5-7 p.m. today and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
