Lowell Sell
Lowell D. Sell, 78, Wapakoneta, died at 3:18 a.m. March 15, 2011, at Wapakoneta Manor.
He was born Feb. 20, 1923, in Rockford to Sam O. and Zelma Boice Sell. On Nov. 6, 1949, he married Martha R. Cotton, who died Dec. 12, 2008.
Surviving are two children, Nathan (Wanda) Sell, Wapakoneta, and Lori Sell, Wapakoneta; a brother, Paul Sell, Bluffton, Ind.; a sister, Ruth Smith, Georgia; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Also deceased is a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Jean Sell; a daughter, Marla Sell; two brothers, Robert Sell and Carl Sell; and a sister, Wanna Sell.
He was a lifelong farmer and mechanic. He owned and operated Sell's Ford Tractor Sales with his brother. He retired in 1985 from Speicher Corp. in Celina. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in World War II with the 1471 Engineering Maintenance Co. in the European Theatre. He was a member of the Harvest Baptist Church in Wapakoneta and the Wapakoneta Flying Farmers Club.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta, the Rev. Gary Bragg officiating. Burial is at Stringtown Cemetery near Rockford.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
