* IMPACTS...The cold wind chills as low as 15 below zero could result in hypothermia or frostbite if precautions are not taken. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Kenneth Laffin
The Rev. Kenneth E. Laffin, 80, of Lima, died at 8:05 a.m. April 18, 2011, at his residence.
He was born July 8, 1930, in Mercer County, to L. Russel and Eddith Helen Fast Laffin. On Aug. 3, 1951, he married Elsie Skiles and she survives.
Also surviving are two sons: Keith Alan (Lori) Laffin, Bedford, and Brian Dwight (Alicia) Laffin, Brunswick; a daughter, Brenda (Jeff) Harrison, Lima; two brothers: Jerry (Nancy L.) Laffin, Coldwater, and Robert (Nancy K.) Laffin, Celina; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter.
He was a Church of God minister since 1951, serving at Mount Tabor and Fairview, Celina; Sugar Ridge, Convoy; Olive Branch, Rockford; Union Chapel, Bryan; the Ney Church of God; and the Church of God, Breckenridge, Pa. He was a chaplain of the Ney Volunteer Fire Department and a school bus driver for 46 years for various school systems.
He was a member of the College First Church of God, Findlay. He was a 1948 graduate of Celina High School and a 1958 graduate of Fort Wayne Bible College.
Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Tabor Church of God, Celina, the Rev. David Green officiating. Burial will follow in Mendon Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday at W. H. Dick and Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Celina, and 10-11 a.m. Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Otyokwah, Butler.
