At 954 AM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Newport, moving east at 55 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Hail may cause minor damage to vegetation.
Locations impacted include... Montra, Newbern, New Jerusalem, Lockington, Ridgeway, Woodstock, Botkins, Mount Victory, Millerstown, Kiser Lake State Park, Hardin, Pemberton, Piqua, West Mansfield, East Liberty, St. Paris, Logansville, Belle Center, North Lewisburg, and Lakeview.
This includes I-75 in Ohio between mile markers 77 and 106.

Ardyth Shaffer
Ardyth Drake Shaffer, 87, Mendon, died at 5:52 p.m. May 6, 2011, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
She was born June 17, 1923, in Mendon, to Henry and Louise Andrews Drake. On Dec. 23, 1945, she married Max James Shaffer, who died Dec. 20, 1993.
Surviving are a son, James Drake (Leigh Ann) Shaffer, Mendon; a daughter, Henni (Andrew) Hinders, Celina; a brother-in-law, Paul (Dorothy) Shaffer, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and three grandchildren.
Also deceased is a granddaughter.
She was a business education teacher at Ridge High School in Van Wert County and at Spencerville, Mendon-Union and Celina high schools. She was also dean of girls at Celina High School, served as guidance counselor at Parkway High School and retired as school psychologist for Mercer County Educational Service Center.
She was a co-owner of Drake & Shaffer Auto Sales, Mendon, and helped her husband on the family farm.
A 1941 graduate of Mendon-Union High School, she received a bachelor's degree from Ohio Northern University and masters degrees in guidance counseling and school psychology from St. Francis College, Fort Wayne.
She served 41 years as a board member of Mercer County District Library, was on the board of Mercer County Civic Foundation and Auglaize-Mercer Community Action Commission (CAC) and was a member of the Western Ohio Education Foundation (WOEF) board of trustees.
She was a member of Mendon First Church of God and the Delta Kappa Gamma Society of Women Educators.
Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home, Mendon, the Rev. Don Clinger officiating. Burial will follow in Mendon Cemetery.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. today and 10-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
