Joy Linton
Joy L. Linton, 92, Celina, died at 9:40 p.m. Nov. 26, 2011, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital, St. Marys.
She was born Oct. 12, 1919, in Van Wert County, to Olen W. and Laura Wheeler Chivington. On March 15, 1941, she married Elmer Linton, who died May 21, 2001.
Surviving are children, David (Linda) Linton, Celina, Diana (David) Eyink, Celina, Elizabeth (Gary) Moorman, Tipp City; sister, Eileen Reasner, Celina; seven grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are siblings, J. "Pat" Chivington, Betty Meyering and Billie Luke.
She was a 1936 graduate of Rockford High School, and a graduate of Fort Wayne Business College . She received a bachelor's degree from Wright State University in 1974. She worked as a nurses' aide several years and was a substitute teacher. She retired from Central Mutual in Van Wert.
She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Celina, and its women's society. She was a member of Green Thumb Garden Club, Celina.
Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Jonathan Exman officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford.
Calling is 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, and one hour before services at the church.
Memorials may be made to Grand Lake Hospice.
