Frank Axe
Frank A. Axe, 86, St. Marys, died Nov. 27, 2011, at Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices, St. Marys.
He was born Sept. 25, 1925, in St. Marys, to Frank W. and Beatrice Kenefake Axe. On Nov. 25, 1948, he married Pauline J. Muhlenkamp, who survives.
Also surviving are children, Gary (Winona) Axe, Troy, Jean Ann (Marty) Lohmuller, Granger, Ind., and Robert Axe, Milford Center; a sister, Rita Miley, St. Marys; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two infant children, Mary Axe and Joseph Axe,and siblings, Gean Axe, Patrick Axe and Thomas Axe.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council 1492, VFW Post 9289, all in St. Marys. He worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., St. Marys.
He served with the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre during World War II and was awarded five stars for his service.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church, the Rev. Anthony E. Cutcher officiating. Burial with full graveside military rites will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9:15-10:15 a.m. Thursday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys
