Thomas C. Tompkins, 84, Minster, died Nov. 29, 2011 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

He was born April 5, 1927 in Shelby County to Charles T. and Hilda Krebs Tompkins. On Sept. 8, 1953, he married Norma Jean Larger, who survives.

Also surviving are daughter, Elaine (Kent) Frazier, Amelia, and a granddaughter.

Deceased are siblings Marie Small, Patricia McColloch, Edward Tompkins and Kathleen Tompkins.

He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, Knights of Columbus, Minster Eagles, New Bremen Rod & Gun Club and the Railroad Commission.

He had formerly worked at Stamco and retired from the Tank Plant in Lima.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m Saturday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Calling is 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9-9:45 a.m. Saturday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
