John Wermert
Former St. Sebastian/Coldwater resident John G. Wermert, 93, St. Henry, died at 2:30 a.m. Nov. 29, 2011 at the Gardens at St. Henry.
He was born Nov. 3, 1918 in St. Sebastian to Herman and Rosa Severt Wermert. On May 2, 1942, he married Mary Ann Holdheide, who died April 7, 2000.
Surviving are children, Velma (Carl) Wuebker, McCartyville, George (Judy) Wermert, Teutopolis, Ill., Paul (Norma) Wermert, Coldwater, Marita (David) Fullenkamp, St. Henry, Don (Della) Wermert, St. Henry, Ruth (Paul) Rutschilling, Maria Stein, and John (DeAnna) Wermert, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; 22 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Deceased are son, Mark Wermert; siblings, Margaret Jutte, and Joseph Wermert; in-laws, Charles Jutte, Clara Wermert, Henry Holdheide, Bernadette Holdheide, Rita Dorsten, Ralph Dorsten, Gregor Holdheide, Marie Holdheide, and Anthony Holdheide.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater and the Holy Name Society of St. Sebastian. He had worked at New Idea, Coldwater and was a farmer.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Friday at the church in Coldwater, the Rev. Barry Stechschulte officiating. Burial will follow in St. Sebastian Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
