Colleen Heckler
Colleen Ann Heckler, 86, Celina, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Jan. 28, 2013, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born July 4, 1926, in Stanley, Wis., to Charles and Loretta Trierweiler Baldeshwiler, who are deceased. On April 27, 1946, she married Dale Heckler, who died Sept. 20, 1999.
Survivors include three sons, Mike (Betty) Heckler of Coldwater, Elden (Chrisann) Heckler of Celina and Charles (Bridget) Heckler of Celina; two daughters, Teresa (Jim) Tolan of Celina and Darlene (Bill) Lewis of Tipp City; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; a brother, Brig. Gen. "Ret" Vern (Paula) Baldeshwiler of Cheyenne, Wyo.; brothers-in-law, Albert (Anna) Heckler of Celina and Maurice (Hannah) Heckler of Celina; and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Heckler of Celina.
Also deceased are a son, Frederick Dale Heckler; a sister, Ione (Richard) Krogman; brothers-in-law Edward (Esther) Heckler, Carl (Mable) Heckler, Earl (Mildred) Heckler and Wayne Heckler; and a sister-in-law, Rita (Alvin) Mestemaker.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina and its Altar Rosary Society and Sewing Circle. She also was a member of the 4th Degree St. Gasper Del Buffalo Auxiliary and cooked for the I.C. Rosary Altar funeral dinners. She retired in 1989 from Huffy Bicycle Factory in Celina. As matriarch, she was actively involved in her family and will be remembered as the Cookie Grandma.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Celina, Rev. Kenneth G. Alt officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Catholic Cemetery in Celina.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and before 10 a.m. Friday at Lehman-Hogenkamp-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
