Mary Schumann
Mary Lou Schumann, 82, Botkins, died at 1:08 a.m. Feb. 18, 2013, at Wapakoneta Manor.
She was born July 26, 1930, in Celina to Ralph and Mary Rupert McElroy, who are deceased. On Oct. 29, 1971, she married Melvin Schumann, who survives in Botkins.
Also surviving are two children, Sheila Thompson of Crystal River, Fla., and Barry Thompson of Dunnellon, Fla.; a step-son, Barry (Sandy) Schumann of Westerville; six grandchildren, Donna (John) Jenkins of Seminole, Fla., Annamarie Thompson of Baden, Pa., Preston Thompson of Dunnellon, Fla., Eric Wendel of Plano, Texas, and Samuel and Lilly Schumann of Westerville; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Angelina and Robert Jenkins, all of Seminole, Fla.; and a sister, Jerrilyn Temple, Celina.
Also deceased are seven brothers, William, Robert, Henry, Leo, Ralph, Walter and Edgar McElroy; and two sisters, Betty Bowersock and Patricia Swineford.
A homemaker, she worked as a housekeeper for 21 years at Copeland Corp. in Sidney. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Botkins. She enjoyed taking trips and tours all over the world and visiting friends.
A memorial service is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Botkins, the Rev. Bob Carter officiating. Private burial of the cremated remains will be in the Loramie Valley Cemetery, Botkins.
Calling is 5-8 p.m. Friday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, Wapakoneta, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
