Antoinette Baugher
Antoinette A. "Toni" Baugher, 91, formerly of Russia, Ohio, died at 11:45 a.m. Feb. 23, 2013, at Dorothy Love Retirement Community, Sidney.
She was born July 8, 1921, in Russia to August and Anna DeBrosse Peltier, who preceded her in death. On Sept. 14, 1940, she was married in Piqua to Dillon Baugher, who died in May 1993.
Surviving are three daughters, Ann (Verl) Monnin, McCartyville, Jean (Robert) Meier, Lakeview, and Teresa (John) Friesthler,Sidney; a daughter-in-law, Chris Baugher, Russia; siblings, Leonard and Alvina Peltier, Russia, and Rose and LeRoy Schwieterman, Burkettsville; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
A son, Joseph, died in 1999. Also deceased are two sons-in-law, John Berning and Gary Watercutter; a great-grandchild, Gavin Quinter; siblings, Martha Luthman, Ursula Baugher, Gertrude Creager, Bernice Monnin, Florence Bothast, Esther Zircher, Hubert Peltier, Grace Lung; and a stepbrother, Albert Denn.
She was a member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, a homemaker and retired employee of Enpo Cornell, Piqua. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, sewing and spending time with her family. She was a devout Catholic and had a strong devotion to our Lord and the blessed mother. She had an unwavering faith in God that inspired others and lovingly gave of herself to many. She took care of her parents, husband and sister, Gertrude, when they were unable to care for themselves. Her sense of humor and an ever-ready hug will be greatly missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Remy Catholic Church. The Rev. Frank Amberger will officiate. Burial will be in St. Remy Cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia.
