Commissioners OK buying alarm system for various offices

CELINA - Officials are looking for ways to improve security at the Mercer County Courthouse as violent acts continue in public places.
One of the ideas discussed during a meeting Thursday morning at the courthouse was to lock all entranceways but one, where all visitors and employees would be subject to a metal detector and X-ray machine. No decision was made. [More]

Stateline Agri given orders to fix lagoon problems
CELINA - The Ohio EPA has issued a notice of violation against Stateline Agri Inc., a 2,400-head hog finishing operation at 1031 state Route 29 owned by Roman Kremer, for an overflowing manure lagoon and other issues reported earlier this month.

CELINA - The county plans to fix two intersections along Mud Pike that require motorists to zigzag.
The intersections of Fleetfoot and Hellwarth roads will be modified so vehicles crossing Mud Pike will continue a nearly straight path, according to Mercer County Engineer Jim Wiechart.
