Urban Grevenkamp
Urban A. Grevenkamp, "The Watkins Man," 89, Celina, died March 27, 2013, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born June 8, 1923, in Cassella, to Henry and Mary Kemper Grevenkamp. On June 23, 1951, he married Alice Post in St. Anthony, and she survives in Celina.
Also surviving are four children, Roger Grevenkamp of Celina, Marlene (Ron) Snider of Celina, Kathy Grevenkamp (John Kimbro) of Sidney and Karen (Don) Uhlenhake of Celina; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Dee) Uhlenhake of Celina, Jay (Jenn) Snider of New Bremen and Kayley (Andy) DeLa- Garza of Janesville, Wis.; five great-grandchildren, Olivia and Bryce Uhlenhake, Blake and Hayden Snider and Kora DeLaGarza; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by five siblings, Gregor (Monica) Grevenkamp, Linus (Marian) Grevenkamp, Herbert (Opal) Grevenkamp, Adella (Urban) Hess and Alma (Edwin) Stelzer.
He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Celina, the Men's Holy Name Society of the church and the Catholic Knights of Cassella. He retired from the former Mersman plant in Celina and sold Watkins Products for over 50 years. He loved to tend to his vegetable garden.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Calling is 2-7 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Lehman Hogenkamp Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorials may be given to American Diabetes Association or St. Rita's Hospice.
