Bernard Siefring
Bernard "Ben" H. Siefring, 83, Coldwater, died May 13, 2013. at his home.
He was born Jan. 4, 1930, in Philothea, to the late Bernard J. and Pauline Dues Siefring. On Sept. 15, 1956, he married Mary Kahlig in Coldwater, and she survives.
Also surviving are seven daughters, Laura (Rick) Sanfrey, Carmel, Ind., Benita Siefring, Celina, Roberta (Keith) Selhorst, Coldwater, Paula Siefring, Celina, Andrea (Kevin) Reed, Coldwater, Christa (Todd) Fullenkamp, Fort Recovery, and Sara (Kevin) Mowery, of The Colony, Texas; 17 grandchildren; siblings and spouses, Luetta Forsthoefel, Bernice and Don Wellman, Herbert and Stella Siefring, Gerald Siefring, Roger and Rose Ann Siefring and David and Eileen Siefring, all of Coldwater; and in-laws, Mildred Siefring, Celina, Dorothy Siefring, George Kahlig, Catherine Bruggeman, Margaret Klosterman and Delores Kahlig, all of Coldwater, and Howard Huwer, Celina.
Deceased are siblings and spouses, Barthel Siefring, Omer and Monica Siefring, Elmer Siefring, Charles Siefring and Orville and Jeannette Siefring, and in-laws, Don Forsthoefel, Ray, Irene and Ruth Kahlig, Ralph and Dorothy Kahlig, Evelyn Kahlig, Gregor and Edna Kahlig, Irene Huwer, Leroy Bruggeman, Ed Kahlig and Mark Klosterman.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, and its Holy Name Society. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War, and a member of the Coldwater American Legion. He was a lifelong farmer and operated Siefring Feed & Equipment.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater, the Rev. Marc Soellner officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
