William Hutt
William H. "Bill" Hutt, 94, Wapakoneta, died at 1:50 p.m. Aug. 23, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 11, 1919, in Wapakoneta, to John J. and Hazel C. Vorhees Hutt. On March 3, 1939, he married Agnes R. Kuck, who survives.
Other survivors are a daughter, Sharon A. (Lewis) Knoch, Wapakoneta; four grandchildren, Kristine (John Chesbrough) Kah, North Port, Fla., Lori (Rick) Koenig and Joshua (Karen) Hutt, all of Wapakoneta, and Shana (Travis) Samons, Murrieta, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren, Darcy (Mike Gee) West, Holly and Kyle Koenig, Riley, Avery and Lincoln Hutt, and Sadie and Sway Samons; and a daughter-in-law, Shelia Hutt, Wapakoneta.
Deceased is a son, Steve Hutt.
He retired from Westinghouse, Lima, after 37 years of service as a foreman. In the 1950s, he created and developed the William H. Hutt Subdivision, which is on Washington Street between Ohio and Buchanan streets. He was known as a great carpenter who enjoyed remodeling homes. He was a veteran of World War II, where he had served in the U.S. Navy as a mechanic. He was a member of VFW Post 8445 and a 60-year member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta.
Services are 3 p.m. Tuesday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta, the Rev. Becky Sunday officiating. Burial is at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta, with military rites performed by VFW Post 8445.
Calling is 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
