Charles A. Nickel, 81, Houghton Lake, Mich., passed away Dec. 16, 2013, at Gunnisonville Meadows Assisted Living Home in DeWitt, Mich.

He was born Nov. 28, 1932, in Celina, to Arthur W. and Doris Moffett Nickel.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Matilda Nickel Johnson.

He graduated from Celina High School in 1950 and The Ohio State University in 1954. He retired from General Motors in 1992. He was a longtime resident of Houghton Lake, Mich.

He was a member of Celina Lodge #241 F and AM, Scottish Rite Valley of Grand Rapids and Saladin Shrine Temple of Grand Rapids. He enjoyed snowmobiling and skiing, living by the lake and his constant companion dog, Heidi. He will be truly missed by all his friends.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at North Grove Cemetery, Celina, the Rev. Matt Reynolds officiating.
